Prior to writing fiction, I was a freelance magazine writer. My humor was published in The New Yorker and the New York Times. I also wrote a movie column for Elle and Harper's Bazaar, and wrote on books, food and music as well.
My book of supernatural erotic stories, "Deep Inside," was published by Tor Books in May 2007. It's a blend of satire, comedy, eroticism, horror and sci fi.
In addition to "Deep Inside," I co-wrote the ongoing erotic soap opera, "Sex Scenes," with my husband, Ray Sawhill. We performed it in New York City for two years, mostly at Cornelia Street Cafe, with a cast of NYC actors, who you can read about and see here.
During that period, I also wrote a comic book with the artist, Jess Fink, for Fantagraphics, studied Flash animation with Tom Hart, and co-wrote the movie, "The Fold," with my husband and with the director, "Matt Lambert."
I took "Sex Scenes" on the road in 2007, performing in it Chicago, Los Angeles, Albany, Austin, Phoenix, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Pittsburgh. You can see photos from those performances here.
I'm currently finishing up a new novel.
